beat bullying

BeatBullying is an organization that seeks to create an online support forum for young people experiencing bullying, either on the Internet or in school. What makes BeatBullying unique is that they use highly-trained young people as their mentors. That means that if a student or other young person seeks help by registering on the site, they will then be mentored by another young person. This creates a confidential and safe forum for students to seek help for their bullying issues. Another important feature of the site is that if there is a serious problem, counselors and moderators are always on-hand to intervene and provide assistance to both the mentors and the students. Bullying is a serious issue affecting young people across the UK, with one in three children admitting to being bullied. BeatBullying seeks to create awareness of the issue in the UK and globally and make strides to end it once and for all. They believe that the best way to go about solving the issue is to create relationships between young people and show them that they have the ability to guide and support each other. They are endorsed by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.

Kate and Will asked for donations to BeatBullying in lieu of gifts for their wedding. According to The Daily Mail, they chose BeatBullying as one of the Royal Wedding Charity Fund organizations because Kate was allegedly bullied at her private school, the Downe House. While neither Kate and Will have attended any events for BeatBullying yet, they are avid supporters of BeatBullying’s dedication to children fulfilling their full potential.
